Kalamaki is a relatively new settlement on the beach of Komos, built in the recent decades. From the 2 or 3 houses in the 60s the town has developed into a seaside resort with all the amenities.
Its great advantage: the location right on the huge sandy beach of Komos, a beautiful waterfront with associated taverns and cafes, and a relaxing atmosphere.
Kalamaki counts many repeaters among the tourists.
A lot of attractions are nearby, and opposite in the sea, about 12km away, the uninhabited islets Paximadia provide a spectacular backdrop for the summer sunsets.
The settlement covers all the basic tourist needs, it has car and motorbike rentals, hotels and apartments, a bakery and small supermarkets.
