For the last few years in Heraklion’s suburb of Gazi, the city of Malevizi presents the Archaeological Collection Malevizi at the City Hall.
It includes about 500 exhibits of the private collection “Metaxa” (Nikolaos Metaxas was an engineer and founder of the Maris hotel chain who received in 1959 the official approval of the Ministry of Culture for a private collection of antiquities) and other finds from the nearby surroundings.
The exhibits in the ca. 100 sqm counting room on the 1st floor of the Town Hall are made of all sorts of elaborate figures, jewelry, bronze tools and weapons.
